This attractive spindle of Texas Eastern Red Cedar is split about 60 40 between heartwood and sapwood. It has a fairly linear grain pattern and no visible knots. There is beautiful swirling contrast where a small bit of sapwood intermixes into the heartwood. We've air dried this block to ~12% moisture content, in logs that were end sealed with Anchor Seal. This block has a few bugholes

Great book about a Great museum.

Great book, I have visited the museum and was only able to finish the first three basement floors... yes it was that intense. The book helps me read up more on my own time at home. I look forward to visiting the museum again, whenever I get lucky and score some tickets on the next lottery time. This book will tide me until then for the next visit to the upper floors this time.
