It gently cleanses your face, whilst also hydrating and moisturising your skin, leaving it feeling deeply cleansed, soothed, and hydrated with a radiant and refreshed glow.

Oil cleansing is a process which both cleanses and moisturises your skin. In simple terms, oil dissolves oil. Older hardened fatty-acid lipids (oils) in the skin are dissolved, and the excess oil is then removed along with dirt, impurities, dead skin, make-up and sunscreen to leave your skin soft and smooth. This amazing technique has been used in virtually all civilisations including the Romans, Egyptians and ancient Greeks who all knew of the incredible benefits.

This is a much gentler process for your skin than the majority of laboratory-made cleansers, most of which contain harsh surfactants, synthetic preservatives or mineral oil (petrochemicals). Many of these ingredients can deliver superficial results but over time they can affect your skin by stripping away the natural fatty acid lipids in your face which form part of your skin's protective barrier, and leave it looking, and feeling, dry and irritated.

Our skin is not designed to be exposed to these heavily processed elements day after day. In the same way that we are all more aware that eating highly processed foods is not good for our health and wellbeing, there is growing understanding that the same principle applies to what we put on our skin.

How to use

Apply to face and neck using dry fingertips and massage into your skin using circular motions to ensure oils can break down and remove the impurities from your day. Soak a face cloth in warm water and gently wipe off 2-3 times in circular motions to remove the excess balm. Please take extra care around the eye area to avoid any irritation.

For best results we recommend using in the evening as part of a routine alongside our 'Botanical Balance' calming tonic, and either our 'SOS Recovery' or 'You Must Be Sisters' facial oils. For particularly dry skin, it can be used in both the morning and evening.
It can be used on its own or as the first part of a 'double cleanse' using one of our moisturising soap bars, to really ensure that your pores are perfectly clear on those days that you are wearing make-up and sunscreen.
