This ancient silver coin features Pegasus in full flight with elegantly pointed wings.

Athena wears a Corinthian helmet pushed back from her face, on the back of the pendant. Behind her flowing hair is a ring of pendants.

Size: 20 mm 

Hand-fabricated recycled 18kt gold mount. 

18kt gold enhancer bail with .14ct diamonds.

Story

Dated: 350-300 B.C.  Akarnania, Anactorium (a colony of Corinth)

Anactorium was a Corinthian colony on the Ionian Sea.  Their coinage was directly influenced by the Corinthian Pegasi.  

Pegasus was the son of Medusa and Poseidon, born when Perseus beheaded Medusa.  Medusa was reputed to be very beautiful but angered Athena by having an affair with Poseidon.  Athena then turned Medusa into a Gorgon with snake hair.

Pegasus was known as a gentle, helpful creature whom Zeus granted immortality by turning him into a constellation upon his death.  Because of his ability to fly, Pegasus is often associated with divine inspiration or the immortality of the soul, an emblem of both our physical body and our higher self.

In modern times, Pegasus has been regarded as a symbol of artistic inspiration.

Athena's association with horses; teaching man to tame horses and inventing the bit, bridle, plow, and chariot, she earned the name  'Hippia' - equestrian.  She gave Bellerophon a golden bridle for Pegasus.

Associated with wisdom, handicraft, and war, Athena is often a symbol of freedom and democracy.

SPOT Bungee Raccoon
Purchased 5/20. Decent dog toy. I have a Chiyorkie and he chews on his toys constantly. The squeakers went after a couple of days and then he pulled them out. I put them in the trash. After about two months he had chewed off the head and pulled the bungee out. The bungee went in the trash. I let him play with head and tail pieces for a while but the head had gotten into bad shape so in the trash it went. That left about a twelve inch piece left. He has been playing with that now about a month. He loved tearing the toy up and I do not really blame the toy. He rips up anything that is made of cloth. The only real issue I have with the toy is the two squeakers. IMO they could cause a choking or bowel blocking hazard. I just happened to catch him chewing on them after he had gotten them back. An old knotted on each end knee sock works just about as well but from then on don't leave your socks laying around. They will be fair game for you pet. lol
