Musical Angel Antique Painting After Fra Angelico, Gold Leaf Frame. Italy, c.1875This oil painting on board with a genuine gold leaf background and frame was hand painted after the Renaissance original by the famed Italian artist, Fra Angelico. Purchased on a "Grand Tour" of Europe, this lovely work of art from around 1875 was a reminder of Florence, where it was painted in tempera on a board. This oil painting on board with a genuine gold leaf background and frame was hand painted after the Renaissance original by the famed Italian artist, Fra Angelico. Purchased on a "Grand Tour" of Europe, this lovely work of art from around 1875 was a reminder of Florence, where it was painted in tempera on a board.
The musician angel has an embossed halo and is playing a violin type instrument. The richly carved and detailed frame with spiral columns shows the transition from Gothic to Renaissance of the 1400's. There is minor wear to the painting, see photos.

Great find
Color: Black
I had something in my sink to hold my washcloth but didn't like how it took up sink space. This was the perfect answers and now I can hang my washcloth on this and it hangs just enough over the sink so the drips stay in the sink. Also enough room for my scrub brush and sponge. Very happy with this purchase.
