Cortec® VpCI®-649 BD is a concentrated liquid formulation that provides long-term protection for ferrous and non-ferrous metals in water and glycol closed-loop systems. VpCI®-648 BD is also used for corrosion protection during hydrostatic testing. The product combines contact and volatile corrosion inhibitors to protect hard to reach areas. It contains and organic dispersing agent and an acrylic polymer to prevent scale formation. VpCI®-649 BD is free of nitrite, phosphate or chromate.

Dilution:
Cortec® VpCI®-649 BD can be diluted depending on the length of protection needed. For short term corrosion protection(less than 12 months) use at 1%. For long term corrosion protection (12-24 months) use at 1.5%. Concentration of VpCI®-649 BD can be monitored via molybdate tracer, pH or refractometer.
How to Use:
VpCI®-649 BD is readily water-soluble for easy application. Provides rust protection for fresh water, steam and glycol closed loop systems. Follow the dilution guides depending on your protection needs.
Typical Applications:
Cortec® VpCI®-649 BD is effective to stop aggressive corrosion in systems containing fresh water or glycol coolants. Common applications include: closed loop cooling systems, fire extinguishing system dry lay-up, hydrostatic testing of pressurized vessels, pipelines and valves, cooling system lay-up, packer fluid additive, rust prevention of water-bottom corrosion in oil storage tanks.
