Description:

The final word from one of popular music's greatest critics.

In the summer of 2020, acclaimed music critic and journalist Peter Goddard began work on a new book that would take readers on a journey back through his fifty-plus years spent writing professionally about rock music and the musical styles circling it-everything from blues and jazz to country and classical. His plan was to revisit his old haunts and their habitues, scenes and figures he first wrote about starting in the mid-1960s when he became Canada's first on-staff popular music critic, to show how ongoing revisions continually reframe first impressions.

Tragically, Goddard died in 2022 before work on the manuscript was complete. But many of the core essays-on Bob Dylan, John Lennon and Yoko Ono, the Who, k.d. lang, David Bowie, Liza Minelli, The Band, Neil Diamond, and others-are here. Accompanying these new essays is a collection of some of the best writing of Goddard's career-ranging from interviews with B. B. King, Joni Mitchell, Paul Simon, Bruce Springsteen, and Janis Joplin to reviews of classic albums by the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, and Neil Young, to close readings of Leonard Cohen, Anne Murray, Led Zeppelin, and Gordon Lightfoot. Taken as a whole, One Foot on the Platform represents more than fifty years of thought and writing by one of Canada's foremost cultural critics.

Soothing balm
This balm feels rich and moisturizing without being too heavy. It absorbs fairly quickly and helps keep dry skin feeling soft and comfortable. A good option for daily use on both face and body.

It does exactly what it's supposed to do
Made with grass-fed beef tallow-that's excellent. It is very gentle on the skin and leaves it super hydrated. It absorbs very quickly, leaves no greasy residue, and the hydration lasts all day. I use it on my face and, primarily, on my feet; over time, they tend to get very dry, and this tallow has helped me tremendously in keeping them soft and hydrated.

Amazing, hydrated skin.
This cream is amazing. No skin irritation, not greasy and overall great value at a low price. Ordered for a second time. Quick delivery. Only 4 stars because I don’t love that it’s made in China.

Very good for the skin
This sebum and honey balm is a jewel. It absorbs very quickly, leaves no greasy feeling and hydration lasts all day. I use it on my face and body. As it is 100% grass-fed, you can see the quality. Goodbye dry and tight skin. The 120g bottle yields a lot. I'm going to replace it

Made in China
I'm sorry but I would have never bought this item if I knew it was manufactured in China. They don't have the quality control we have in the U.S. and that's extremely important to me when using body products and taking supplements.
