Douglas Fir Block DF-14 3.8" x 3.8" x 7.2" 2.1 lbs. This is a slow-growth block of Douglas Fir from the San Juan Islands of Washington. The growth rings are exceptionally closely-spaced, similar to the rings seen in Old Growth lumber. This is due to the San Juan archipelago being in the rain shadow of the Olympic Peninsula. Total annual rain on the San Juans is approximately 25 inches, as compared to the 100+ inches received in the Olympic Mountains. The trees here are generally secondary growth and what we refer to as "slow growth" with their tight growth ring spacing. The color on this Douglas Fir is a warm warm reddish-brown with a hint of orange. The growth rings are exceptionally finely-spaced, with ~15 years of growth present in each radial inch of lumber. This block has been air-dried to 10-12% moisture content. There is one concave wane edge as shown in the photos. |

These balls were almost exactly what I needed. I was replacing my boy’s favorite ball, which is the 3” squeaky, spikey ball that fits in the chuck it launcher. Unfortunately I saw the shiny object next to it and because there were SIX balls and a dollar less, I failed to see that these are 3.5” balls instead of 3”…. Great balls but no fitty in the slingy. Buyer beware. No chuck it no problem. Save a buck.

MY CHIHUAHUA LOVES THESE BALLS!!

My little chihuahua, BamBam, is addicted to balls, especially little balls that squeak! However, any balls that have material on them, BamBam will tear them apart, swallow the material and then get an upset tummy! These balls saved the day! BamBam LOVES them & she cannot tear them apart! They hold up so well! No matter how much BamBam plays with them, they keep squeaking away!
