This is another nice, small half-log bowl blank from Texas Green Ash. The color is a soft brown, both heartwood and sapwood, with a thin section of mottled grey bark on the backside.
This blank will work well for a conventional bowl, and with full and tight bark, especially well for a natural-edge bowl. The log section halved to produce this blank was cut thru the pith and while that pith remains below the surface, it is tight and includes no pith-related radial cracks or any other structural flaws.

tbh, they are a little bigger then I expected. seems like a lot of people claimed they fit small, so I ordered a size up and they are a little more loose then I’d normally want. the material is slightly different, maybe a bit more stiff, but still pretty comfortable for the price.
