Joe Sakic Young Gun Shadow Box (Upper Deck Authenticated)

It didn't take long into Joe Sakic's NHL career to realize he would someday have a spot in the Hockey Hall of Fame. He contributed in so many ways to the Nordiques' nightly effort, doing whatever was asked of him while performing his natural leadership duties. In just his second season (1989-90), he notched his first 100-point effort. He began the season with a hat trick in the third game and finished the season with at least one goal in the final six games. He again surpassed the 100-point threshold the next season as he recorded 11 multiple-goal games and his first career five-point game (10/10/90). He scored 94 points the following season (in only 69 games) and then returned to his triple digit ways in '92-93. That season, he skated in his fourth consecutive All-Star Game for the Wales Conference. This 3-D Shadow Box is truly a unique piece. It features an image of Sakic skating for the Nordiques in a white home jersey on the outer acrylic layer and following through on one of his powerful slap shots in a blue away jersey on the middle acrylic layer. The middle layer also features his authentic signature. First seen in trading card form in Upper Deck SPx Football in 2009, the tri-level Shadow Box design is now expanded into memorabilia form. The 3-D piece is enclosed in a black metal frame that measures 20.5" x 2.5" x 16.5". Sakic has signed this Young Gun shadow box in black paint pen.
