ABOUT THE ONDEMAND WEBINAR:

This presentation is a how-to guide for successfully pitching your manuscript. Whether verbally or through written communication, pitching can be stressful and overwhelming. The purpose of this presentation is to break down the mystery and help make pitching fun for both the writer and the editor/agent receiving the original pitch. Further, pitching occurs at each and every point in a book's creation. The author pitches the agent who pitches an editor who pitches their publisher. The sales team then pitches the booksellers, and then finally, the booksellers pitch the consumer. Building a solid pitch foundation can help support your book from pitch all the way through publication and on sale.

A great pitch can open so many doors, so the purpose of this presentation is to help strengthen your book's pitches. Literary agent Melissa Edwards discusses the differences between written and verbal pitching and the different strategies an author can use to stand out. She goes through a list of do's and don'ts that will help mark you as a professional in a room of amateurs.

As a literary agent, it is Melissa's job to receive pitches and to pitch editors. This is a learned skill and one that takes time and effort. She loves to share tips and tricks to make pitching more pleasant.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN:

  • How to pitch an agent or editor verbally at a conference
  • The differences between a verbal and written pitch and what to avoid in each
  • How to pitch an agent via query
  • How to draft your pitch so you sound like a professional
  • How to grip your reader or listener in the first 90 seconds

Cute and durable!

My dog absolutely loves this toy! I'm not sure why people are complaining it's too hard, it's a nylon dog chew toy, it's supposed to be hard. I love the little holes in the lattice top I can stuff with treats. It keeps my very (VERY) active dog busy for a long time. I would definitely recommend this if you have a power chewer. It's also super cute, I just love to see him tote around a piece of pie.

Lasted a few months
This is our last picture of the rooster, as he is being set to the trash today, because new rooster is on its way!! Yes, your dog will rip the face off and pull some stuffing out quickly. Let him. I was amazed this tore up toy lasted so long. If your dog likes to dig out the squeakers, this is the perfect one of the Go Dog toys, because it has SEVEN squeakers inside, whereas the duck only has one squeaker. Bella (in the pic) is the epic chewer, and this was a good toy for her. It took her a few months to get all the squeakers out. She loves her rooster. She sleeps with it and is very attached to it. It is worth the investment.

🐔 Best chikum toy, my puppers love it.
We have two small dogs and they both love this chicken. We are on our 2nd one, it's not indestructible, but built tough and they love all the squeakers. 1st one lasted a little over 2 months, which is a long time for a beloved toy to hold up in this house. I too love this chicken, I mean just look at its funny expression. It's fun to watch these two play with it and I chuckle when I find it in different parts of the house with a startled expression on its face. It seems to say, how did I get here?! What's happening?!

Best dog toys ever. They outlast and are more appealing to my dogs than those that guarantee long life.
We have been buying goDog products from our veterinarian. It takes, literally, years for the dogs to kill them completely. The big toys, such as the chicken, die faster, but even the little mutt loves it. Now the good part: half the price of our veterinarian. Not that I don't want to support them, but $27 bucks for a chicken doomed to die at some point, seems ridiculous. Some of the small sizes are already 4 years old, but the chicken doesn't come in small. Even when they worked at it until the squeaker was dead, the rest of the chicken survived more than a year of constant dragging and tugging. It washed up very good, but we did have to occasionally stitch up larger holes to prevent washing machine loss of stuffing.

My dogs love this
My dogs love this stinking toy. I’m about to buy another one though bc they are tearing it up. But overall they are pretty rough with it and suckle on it. I didn’t think this would be such a hit for them but I’m ok with repurchasing it for the amount of love they have for this!
