ABOUT THE ARTIST
Sukhnandi Vyam was born in Sonpuri village in 1983, and familiarised himself with carving and pottery since childhood. His paintings are a unique re-interpretation of the scenes in the tribal folklore and mythology. Sukhnandi’s soft and light colour usage and the fine, neat work has attracted many art lovers. In 2002, he won the Madhya Pradesh State Government award for an unusually elaborate wood-carved ritual mangrohi wedding totem.

WHAT WE LEARN
The theme for the workshop is 'The Story of Narmada river'. River Narmada is revered as a mother by the tribals for it has sustained the tribes and agriculture of the land since ancient times. We will take the mythological story of Narmada ji and explore compositions related to it with guidance from Sukhnandi Vyam ji.

Our classes, as always, put importance on the overall understanding of the subject and composition building, so that the particiapnts can develop confidence to create original works. 

Additionally, we make an effort to understand the culture and spirit of Gond and the thought process behind the artist's works. On the journey, you will learn different elements, motifs and textures.

SIZE OF THE ARTWORK
You may choose a size you are comfortable with. You will be able to create multiple artworks during the course.

You can either follow what the artist is creating though we encourage and support you to create your own original composition.

Acrylic/ Poster/ Gauche paints
Brushes

**Recordings of the workshop would be uploaded daily after session and would have lifetime access to participants.
