Today's very limited Black Fuzz Phrase stakes a new claim with germanium NOS OC44 Philips black glass transistors for a sound aggressive, articulate, and oh so authentic.
Only ever delivered in limited batches, the JAM Pedals Black Fuzz Phrase is truly a labor of love and – no surprise – a coveted collector's item. This fuzzy, fuzzy pedal makes itself known with its ultra-rare, ultra-limited NOS OC44 Philips black glass transistors. Manufactured in 1969 and tested individually and matched by ear, these original transistors are made for a burning, mean, lean fuzz sound like your favorite late-'60s, early-'70s guitar wizards.
The Black Fuzz Phrase LTD is carefully hand-assembled with point-to-point hand-wiring on a turret board and wrapped in a charming black suede. What's more, vintage spec carbon resistors and tropical fish capacitors are found throughout the signal path for striking control with its effortless two-dial control setup. True bypass switching keeps playing and switching clean while a standard nine-volt isolated power supply brings the effect to life, no problem.
