Description:
A razor-sharp debut story collection from one of the most notable figures in Australian media.
Jana Wendt, the much-loved Gold Logie superstar of TV journalism for nearly three decades, feature writer and role model for young career women, has now turned her hand to fiction.
In 'Bits and Pieces', an artist talks about his long life- 'Let me tell you, my friend, journalists ask some very stupid questions.' In 'Fame and Nothingness', a once celebrated journalist calls into a talkback program about meeting Nelson Mandela. In 'The Stamp of History', Ada and Albert live through the dark days of Europe. In the opening story, Ludmilla is about to discover an entirely new side to her husband.
Wendt's stories are polished and exuberant, rich with distinctive voices and precise details. Her characters grapple with fortune and misfortune, with memories of lives in interesting times. Couples are betrayed and redeemed. There are heart-stopping monologues and witty exchanges between friends and rivals. Tragedies alternate with enduring love.
In The Far Side of the Moon, Jana Wendt brings to life a brilliant parade of people, living in a world we instantly recognise.
'An elegant collection, sometimes delightful, funny, and always observant of the human condition via the smallness of everyday lives.' Guardian

Sturdy, well built has wheels that makes it easy to move and also lock in place.
Size: 100LBS
Happy with my purchase. Sturdy well built, love that it has wheels makes it easy to move around and wheels lock in place. I choose to fill it with sand and water as it gets really windy where we live this will prevent my umbrella flying to the neighbors house again 😅

Must Read before Purchasing!!!! Height is lost if you use this base!!!!
Size: 100LBS
I was so very excited about this for our umbrella - and then I put it together.
I called my adult son to come and take a look - I had to be doing something wrong.
To our dismay, I was not.
The lowest pole in the umbrella system has 4 welded pieces with holes meant to connect to the legs, thus stabilizing the structure. The lowest pole measures (guestimate) 3 feet.
When you choose this system, you do not use the original cross-bars, nor the original lowest pole with the 4 welded pieces. Rather, you use a newly provided lowest piece roughly measuring a foot. In doing so, the structure loses a total of almost 2 feet. For average-height individuals, this would not be a problem. For individuals 6' or greater, this is quite a problem. My son is 6'6. My husband is 6'2.
I really wanted the portability of the product. However, we will be returning it for the kind that rest on the cross-bars. I wish someone had mentioned this in the reviews I read and saved me the trouble.

Happy hound!
Color: Yellow, Color: Yellow
My 2 yr old bloodhound destroys every toy in minutes, but not this one. My husband and I actually buy toys to see how long they last for fun. Although the croc is NOT indestructible, it lasts a whole lot longer than most. After an hr or so, I took away the only piece he's chewed off which is part of the back leg. Otherwise nothing else is missing off the croc. Our boy has been very occupied with this new toy and we're satisfied with his new distraction!

Definitely a tough toy
Color: Blue
This is one of the few toys my
Boxer/american bulldog mix hasn’t been able to tear apart. He loves chewing on it and I love that he doesn’t chew on stuff he shouldn’t.
I have such an issue with toys being torn apart the day I bring them home. I wish there was a safe way for it to have a squeaker since he loves squeakers but I don’t think that is possible.

Croc-sational
Color: Blue
My tough chewer is OBSESSED with Croc. Stands up well, small particles occasionally come off but this beats going thru 3 stuffies in an hour. Good value, easy to clean and great for our 91lb pitty
