This Special Run 217e lines up a fantastic set of specifications to get the whole experience off the ground. A Taylor Grand Concert body comes together with a combination of quality solid Sitka spruce and layered Big Leaf maple. The brightness of both woods makes for a sweet, chiming tone made warmer by the top's torrefied quality. Torrefaction, a process in which tonewoods are heat-treated to bake out imperfections and impart some  age for a richer sound, makes an appearance with this 217e. Taylor C-Class bracing lands with this torrefied top to add up to a guitar with a more modern level of balance and projection.

These quality tonewoods are matched by a Hard Rock maple neck and a West African Crelicam ebony fingerboard. Lined with comfortable frets and punctuated with Italian acrylic inlays, this board presents a smooth feel on the fingers to match the sleek feel across the back of the neck on the palm.
