This version represents the perfect surface for acrylic and oil painters, created with the ever popular Claessens No.166 Acrylic Primed linen. A medium textured surface of 415 gsm which has been initially sealed with clear acrylic size and then prepared by artisans with 2 coats of Universal Acrylic prime to complete the surface finish. The linen has 17 warp threads and 14.5 weft threads per cm.

Your surface will enjoy the application of both thin washes of acrylic or oil paint and equally bold expressive brushwork. The subtle texture only gently implies itself on your surface, making it a most versatile painting surface for acrylic or oil painter. Particularly due to the more absorbent universal prime oil painters will experience less slip to their marks. More medium may be required to achieve more fluid mark making however edges can be more tightly controlled.
