Every family has secrets
Southold, New York, 1843: Young Mary, blood trickling from behind the blindfold tied around her eyes, is interrogated about the events surrounding her grandmother's death. As the story jumps back, we witness Mary, raised in a repressively religious household, finding fleeting happiness in the arms of Eleanor, the home's maid. Her family, who believe they are seeing, speaking, and acting on God's behalf, view the girls' relationship as an abomination, to be dealt with as severely as possible. The couple attempts to carry on in secret, but someone is always watching, or listening, and the wages of perceived sin threaten to become death, with the tension only heightened by the arrival of an enigmatic stranger and the revelation of greater forces at work.

Good for Lashes, Just Wish They Were Bigger
These wipes are nice and work well for what I mainly use them for. I’ve been using them mostly for lash cleanup, and they do a good job without being too harsh.
They feel gentle on the skin, and the material is soft enough for the eye area, which I appreciate. They’re easy to use and come pre-soaked, so it’s quick and convenient.
My only real complaint is that I wish they were thicker and a bit bigger. For small areas like lashes, they’re great—but if you’re trying to remove a full face of makeup, you’ll probably need to use a few more than expected.
Overall, they’re effective and convenient, especially for lighter use or targeted areas, but I do wish they had a little more size and thickness to them.
