The crow is symbolic of the Trickster archetype, and this one is using his cunning intelligence to lure a passing thought, in the form of a colorful fish, into his snare. This Trickster is more realized than the subconscious fish passing below. He feels above the world perched in his fantastical blue tree

“Fishing for ideas”  - Original 41" x 53" oil on masonite panel in a studio made frame.  The painting is further protected by a coat of matte varnish.

The crow is symbolic of the Trickster archetype, and this one is using his cunning intelligence to lure a passing thought, in the form of a colorful fish, into his snare.  This Trickster is more realized than the subconscious fish passing below.  He feels above the world perched in his fantastical blue tree with additional lures at his disposal, but perhaps his arrogance has left him susceptible to potential bad judgement.  In the ever-changing dynamic of the World only time will tell if the idea captured is worthy to be seen in the light of day.
