This beautiful French dining table has a rectangular plank top supported by carved trestle bases that each feature a carved out spade design and are resting on plinth bases joined by a center stretcher. Spades, or piques as they're called in France, represented the nobility, standing in for the lances of knights. Versatile as well as functional, it comfortably seats 8 and can also be used as a console, library, or sofa table because of its narrow depth. Retaining its beautiful rich color and patina, it has a fresh French polish that allows the wood to shine. I am using an old stand from one of the previous frothers but, as this frother is much heavier, it keeps falling down. It would be nice to have a stand that fits this frother! Other than that, so far, it is the best frother I have ever had!
