During a trip to the Martin Guitar factory in Nazareth, Pennsylvania, Russo Music staff decided on some key features this guitar exhibits. As a true showcase of Martin’s mastery of acoustic guitar craftsmanship, we hope this guitar inspires you as it has us.

This unique Martin Custom Shop starts with a classic 000 28-Style Auditorium-shaped body. The top of this body is constituted of spruce, cut to a Martin Authentic measure of thickness. Bearing a Standard gloss finish across the top with an Aging Toner color, this guitar tints slightly yellow and displays the rich grain of the spruce under light. Antique White binding lines the edges of this top alongside a Herringbone inlay while a Style 28 Boltaron rosette circles the soundhole. Encapsulating the playing experience across the top, this Custom Shop’s Black Ebony Modern Belly bridge is outfitted with a drop-in-style Compensated Bone saddle for sturdy intonation. Scalloped Adirondack spruce bracing lines the inside of this 000 model in an X-Brace pattern to enhance tonal stability and projection. Three-piece East Indian rosewood forms the back and sides of this Custom Shop with the addition of a Highly Flamed koa wedge. The back features a three-way divide with Checker purfling, highlighting the natural beauty and grain of the rosewood selection.

The experience of this Custom Shop continues with a 12/4 genuine mahogany neck fitted in a Martin Modified Low Oval shape with a triangle volute at the headstock. A High Performance taper enhances the playability of the neck for full exploration of this model’s 24.9” scale length along with a Dovetail neck joint. Oiled black ebony forms a sixteen-inch radius fingerboard with twenty frets outfitted with Standard fret wire. Along the board, one will find Martin’s Diamonds and Squares Long fret inlays made with Regular Abalone for fine detail and highlighting across the dark wood. At the end of the fingerboard sits a bone nut measuring at 1.75”, acting as a gateway to this Martin’s solid headstock, East Indian rosewood headplate and Grover tuners. This Custom Shop’s particular Grover tuners are Grover Nickel V97-18NA StaTite 18:1 Vintage Button type and ensure easy stringing and consistent intonation. Finally, this Custom Shop piece travels with a Martin molded hardshell case for safety and security.
