Description:
Cortec® M-531 is an oil-based package of rust inhibitors for petroleum and synthetic lubricants. M-531 provides outstanding vapor and contact corrosion protection with excellent demulsibility. It is effective in a variety of conventional and synthetic base stocks. It provides excellent non-staining properties and it can be used in hydraulic applications. M-531 resists gelling when contaminated with water.

Packaging:

Dilution:
Typical dosage ranges between 3% to 5% in the base stock. For larger void space protection, M-531 may be fogged at 1 oz/ft3 (1 L/m3).

How to Use:
Cortec® M-531 is suitable for preservation and intermittent use conditions. The product is compatible with most mineral and synthetic oils. Soluble in petroleum and synthetic lubricant base stocks and most common solvents. Insoluble in water. It is recommended to verify the solubility in the base oil and compatibility with other additives.

Typical Applications:
M-531 protects ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Works for carbon steel, stainless steel, galvanized steel, aluminum, brass and copper. Use in applications where rust protection and water resistance are required. Useful for coiled steel or stacked parts due to its non-staining properties.
