We've cut it into spindles of 1 3 4" across and 8" long. The grain on this piece is long and straight, with swirls around small and infrequent burl buds. We have air dried this Texas Ebony log for 5+ years. Moisture content is 10 12%. Janka hardness is 2820 lbf. Density is 80 lb ft3. This wood is very dense and hard, one of the hardest available

The grain on this piece is long and straight, with swirls around small and infrequent burl buds. We have air-dried this Texas Ebony log for 5+ years. Moisture content is 10-12%. Janka hardness is 2820 lbf. Density is 80 lb/ft3. This wood is very dense and hard, one of the hardest available in North America. The finished products are exquisite. This block has some very minor end-grain checking (see close-up photo) and one crack that is larger. There is also a patch of softened heartwood in about 20% of this block; we've discounted because of the crack and the weathering. The weathered area is still firm but will need stabilization if you wish to turn it. |

Wonderful sock slippers

These are wonderful sock slippers, They are very warm and well made. After reading reviews, I decided to order one size larger (10 to 11) and they are really comfortable big. However, I'm glad I did because they a lot easier to put on and take off. Highly recommended.

You get what you pay for

Comfy but cheaply made. I bought these for the price and expected them to be not the best quality but they are even less than I expected. Please also note that they run small. I got a 10-11 since I wear 11 shoe and Amazon recommended this size. I think a size larger would have been better. Not worth returning though. I’ll just wear them this winter if they last that long and get a better brand next time.
