Today, Barkan sources grapes from top regions in Israel, including the Golan Heights, Upper Galilee, and Jerusalem mountains. With a 50,000 square meter facility, the winery features a 12 million liter tank farm, automated crushing and fermentation plant, and air-conditioned storage building. As Israel s second-largest winery, Barkan processes over 8,000 tons of grapes annually, dedicating itself to ensuring the best possible fruit quality from harvest to sales. Argaman, an Israeli varietal made by crossing Souzao & Carignan, grow in the vineyards in the Judean Foothills. At optimum ripeness, this varietal exhbits a dark purple color and soft supple tannins. Barkan Classic Argaman offers rich flavors plums & blueberries, with a touch of Mediterranean herbs and a soft juicy finish. This wine will complement various meat dishes, as well as soft cheeses.
