The neck of the '69 Stratocaster is made from 5/4 sawn maple with a round lam maple fingerboard, cut to a 1969 style "U" profile. This chunky and rounded neck profile, similar to a Telecaster's "baseball bat" style, fills the hand comfortably, creating a cozy fretting experience. The fingerboard features 21 Narrow Tall 6105 frets, offering a familiar feel for those who regularly play Fender's Custom Shop guitars, as it's one of their most popular fret styles.

The sonic character of this guitar is largely shaped by a trio of Fender Custom Shop Handwired '69 Strat Relic Pickups. These pickups are designed to reproduce the full, punchy late-'60s blues rock tone, capturing the essence of one of the most iconic sounds in music history. The coil wind and magnet configuration of these handwired gems provide exceptional clarity and transparency, making them ideal for use with pedals. A Master Volume, Master Tone, and 5-way pickup selector switch allow control over the pickups.

Featuring Fender's Custom Shop "Super Heavy Relic" treatment, this Strat emulates the wear and tear of an instrument that has seen countless stages and gigs, and is worn deeply through its 3-Color Sunburst body finish. Featuring a faded burst and visible wood that follows the contours of the '69 Strat body, the nitrocellulose is worn away from heavy pick wear above the pickguard to buckle rash around the back. Hand wear on the back of the neck provides a silky smooth wood finish that makes it slightly faster, and fingerboard wear showcases a guitar that's relic'd to perfection.
