The central experience of Parting is centered around its two main effect engines: A modulator and a glitch effect. On the pedal's "left-side" brain, we're treated to the groovily bent tones of its powerful LFO modulator that can swap between a tremolo and a vibrato. Old Blood's classic LFO modulation wizardry is on full display with seven onboard waveform shapes running the gamut from more traditional sawtooths to fully randomized squares and sines. This modulator can be either a rhythmic tremolo or a twisty vibrato shaped into different subdivisions through the Rate control's secondary function.

For the pedal's "right-side" brain, Parting imbues us with great glitching powers with its glitch reverb and delay. Doubling up, Parting's glitch effect creates enormous squalls of broken-up feedback with the possibility for randomized ramps of sound, as determined by the Chance dial. An Aux footswitch allows for Parting to be controlled on a tap tempo basis, swapped to a half-speed internal effect clock, or shuffled through its internal preset bank. A TRS expression pedal can be connected via Parting's ¼" connection to access control over any combination of onboard dials at once. Parting can be routed in mono, stereo, and mono-in-stereo out via its TRS stereo input and output connections and operates on standard nine-volt DC center negative power supplies at 350mA, minimum.
