From the giants of the bible to a jolly green one selling peas. The inspiration for this work is my delight in taking a regular-sized person and then painting them larger than everything else on the canvas, and seeing how they morph into giants.
This playing with perspective creates instant power, the kind of power that comes with such size. Along with the power or part of the construct of power is the accompanying fear.
  The Israelites, it is written, raced back from Gaza to Moses and told stories of giants in the land, thus leaving their dreams of conquest to another day.
In this case, I create a giant, who rather than destroying all that lies before him, like the giant beast in a Godzilla film, this giant uses his strength to help a town finish their bridge.
”Lending a hand”.
The dilemma is automatic and expected when placing a giant alongside much smaller human beings, things can go either way, forcing us to ponder and weigh the consequences of our actions.
