Black botanical illustrations are drawn across the panther’s body, as if nature were reclaiming its place on the animal’s skin.

Reproducing a creation like this in porcelain, with its many angles and straight lines, poses an added challenge during the firing process. The natural shrinkage that occurs as the piece passes through the kiln affects this type of composition, as even the slightest variation can distort the sharpness of a line or the clarity of an angle.
