From the turbocharged Typhoon of the 90s, and the LS2-powered Trailblazer SS, to the modern Jeep SRT-8 and Trackhawk with supercar-like acceleration. Ford has stayed out of this market until now, with their new Explorer ST. Utilizing the venerable 3.0L EcoBoost, this highly tunable rig puts out substantial power. Using our extensive experience with the EcoBoost lineup of engines, we knew a catch can would be the first project to tackle. The 3.0L EcoBoost's direct injection improves the combustion process and provides fantastic fuel mileage and power benefits. Unfortunately, this feature also means the intake valves are vulnerable to carbon. As blow-by flows over the intake valves, oil and carbon deposits can build up, impeding airflow and eventually preventing the valves from closing. The best way to treat carbon buildup is to prevent it, and that's where this Mishimoto Ford Explorer ST catch can kit comes in. This Mishimoto catch can kit diverts blow-by away from the intake and traps it in our catch can. Inside the can, a set of air turbulators and baffles separate fuel, oil, and water vapors from the crankcase gasses and collects them to be drained next time you change your oil. By not returning the blow-by to your oil pan, our kit prevents fouling of the oil that could reduce its effectiveness, leading to accelerated engine wear. Finally, a sintered bronze filter removes any remaining carbon from the crankcase gases so that only clean air returns to your intake. The Mishimoto Explorer ST catch can kit is a complete bolt-on blow-by solution including direct-fit hoses with quick-disconnect fittings and all mounting hardware necessary for a hassle-free installation. Some of the poems were difficult to comprehend and may require a re-reading to understand their full meaning. But that is the brilliance of G. Brooks, putting you in places of the mind that one has never been. Won’t recommend for newbies!

A Great Historical Noir
Format: Kindle
As a lifelong Angeleno, the dark history of the city is often glossed over. Much like Chavez Ravine, the history of Union Station is one of violence and the forced displacement of the original Chinatown and its residents. It's in this setting where the mysterious death of Chinese actress Lulu Wong (who is somewhat based on the real life of actress Anna Mae Wong) begins, and took me into the lives of the amazing Chow sisters - May and Gemma - both of whom have their own reasons for wanting justice. They know the LA cops won't bother to solve the death of a Chinese woman, no matter how famous. It's also a matter of saving their beloved Chinatown from being destroyed in order to build Union Station. I absolutely loved how immersive this story felt and how authentic all of the characters were.

Pretty good
Format: Hardcover
In 1932, Lulu Wong made a name for herself by leaving Chinatown and becoming a Hollywood star. Most girls who look like her don't get lead roles, so Lulu is the pride of her neighborhood. So everyone is shocked when Lulu's body is found in a local stable far from her Beverly Hills home by her friends, sisters May and Gemma. The girls know that the police won't look too hard into the murder, so they decide to take matters into their own hands. As they investigate, the sisters discover a plot to frame Chinatown as a den of iniquity that should be demolished in favor of constructing a new train station. May and Gemma soon find themselves in a race against time to not only find justice for their friend but save their neighborhood, all while being targeted by a killer.
I've only read a few books by Lee, but they've all been winners. I love her style when it comes to YA historical fiction. She crafts compelling plotlines that include real issues of the time with characters you can't help but root for. I liked both our main characters. May was more logical and reserved, while Gemma was a spitfire, but they balanced each other perfectly. I liked how we got both of their POVs, but I did enjoy Gemma's slightly more because I loved her gumption. I thought the mystery was well-paced and kept me intrigued. I had no clue how it would play out, and I liked how Lee wrapped it all up. It did drag a bit in the middle, but overall, I thought it was entertaining.

not as good but nearly there

I had hoped that Kill Her Twice would grab my attention in the first few pages and not let go till the very end (like her other books I have read), but this one had a very. Slow. Start.
The mystery of the death of a young Chinese starlet in California in the early 1900’s is the catalyst that starts everything: new characters are continuously introduced, their motivations becoming clear and murky and clear again several times before the last quarter of the book. But. The last quarter (finally) had me hooked.
