A fantastic piece of Japanese guitar history, this vintage Antoria Les Paul Custom is believed to date from the late 1970s and features the eye-catching triple humbucker Black Beauty specification, complete with multi-ply binding, block inlays and that unmistakable vintage Japanese craftsmanship.

Imported into the UK by JT Coppock of Leeds, Antoria guitars from this era have built a loyal following thanks to their quality construction, distinctive styling and excellent playability. This example appears to feature a pancake-style body construction and retains its original vintage character throughout.

The guitar weighs approximately 9lb 5oz and has recently been checked over, set up and restrung. It plays very well with a comfortable action and plenty of life left in it. The three humbuckers offer a wide range of tones, from warm vintage cleans through to thick classic rock sounds.

Condition is good for its age but this is very much a player’s vintage guitar rather than a collector-grade case queen. The finish shows plenty of light scratches, swirl marks and general cosmetic wear throughout, with various dings and marks consistent with over four decades of use.
