The Craft: Sandalwood and Silver
The sandalwood shaft is turned and polished to a smooth finish, revealing the natural grain. A gold-colored flower-shaped metal frame is affixed to the top, holding a white jade bead. A fine gold chain connects the flower to a lower white jade pendant, capped with gold metal.
No glue is visible at the joints — the metal components are mechanically attached. The chain is delicate; handle with care to avoid tangling.
The Sandalwood
Sandalwood has a subtle, lasting fragrance that fades over time but returns when warmed by body heat. The wood is dense and polishes to a satin sheen.
Grain and color variation are natural — no two sticks look exactly alike. Small tool marks or slight asymmetry are signs of handwork, not defects.
Fit & Care
This stick works best for fine to medium hair. The rigid shaft holds a bun securely, but the pendant adds weight — very thick or heavy hair may find it pulls. For thicker hair, consider our wooden hair sticks without pendants.
