Discover the compelling insights in 'The Scramble for Europe' by Stephen Smith. This brand-new book tackles the pressing issue of mass migration in today's global landscape, offering a profound exploration of the demographic shifts shaping Europe and Africa. With over 200 pages, Smith dives deep into the complexities of migration, focusing on the youthful population of Africa—where 40% are under the age of fifteen. In stark contrast to Europe, which currently hosts 510 million people, projections indicate that by 2050, a staggering 2.5 billion individuals may seek opportunities across the Mediterranean to the continent of Europe. By addressing the question of how Europe can prepare for this impending demographic transformation, Smith offers a balanced perspective that navigates the extremes of guilt and nativism. His analysis provides potential pathways for ‘good neighbour’ migration policies that recognize the potential contributions of young Africans pursuing better lives. This book serves as a crucial resource for anyone interested in understanding the future of Europe in the face of migration challenges. Description:
From the harrowing situation of migrants trying to cross the Mediterranean in rubber dinghies to the crisis on the US-Mexico border, mass migration is one of the most urgent issues facing our societies today. At the same time, viable solutions seem ever more remote, with the increasing polarization of public attitudes and political positions.
In this book, Stephen Smith focuses on Âyoung Africa™ “ 40 per cent of its population are under fifteen “ anda dramatic demographic shift. Today, 510 million people live inside EU borders, and 1.25 billion people in Africa. In 2050, 450 million Europeans will face 2.5 billion Africans “ five times their number. The demographics are implacable. The scramble for Europe will become as inexorable as the Âscramble for Africa™ was at the end of the nineteenth century, when 275 million people lived north and only 100 million lived south of the Mediterranean. Then it was all about raw materials and national pride, now it is about young Africans seeking a better life on the Old Continent, the island of prosperity within their reach. If Africa™s migratory patterns follow the historic precedents set by other less developed parts of the world, in thirty years a quarter of Europe™s population will beAfro-Europeans. Addressingthe question of how Europe cancope with an influx of this magnitude, Smith argues for a path between the two extremes of today™s debate. He advocatesmigratory policies of Âgood neighbourhood™ equidistant from guilt-ridden self-denial and nativist egoism.
This sobering analysis of the migration challenge

Great sturdy toy
Color: Cyan NylonFish
Great toy.
1 yr old puppy LOVES it! However, not good for TILE FLOORS. It's so strong and sturdy but bangs all over the tile! Enough to crack tiles 😬

American Bully Trial - Honest Review
Color: Cyan NylonFish
I have never gotten a toy that lasted more than an hour when it comes to my baby girl. She is an aggressive chewer and loves anything that squeaks. This definitely helped to keep her entertained and use her teeth. I can confidently say that this toy may last a long time but she has already ripped a piece from it. I didn’t expect anything less since she always knows how to test new toys lol. I would definitely recommend though and will be getting more for her once this one is gone. Thank you!

Hard, heavy, sharp
Color: Cyan NylonFish
This is very durable, but it is also very heavy (our dog likes to throw her toys) and after some chewing, the head and tail are very sharp

2 years later and it’s still going!
Color: Cyan NylonFish, Color: Cyan NylonFish
I have 2 dogs, a 6lb chihuahua (Lolli) and an almost 100lb German shepherd/Belgian Malinois (Uzi). Got this for Uzi, however, Lolli had other plans for it. She literally took it out her mouth and ran to hide it. It’s been over a year, closer to 2 and it’s still hanging on.
Attached a photo of Lolli…

I have a heavy heavy chewer, the only things that has escaped him were items like "kong" solid and rubber but no squeaky. He quickly lost interest in the toy; largely within a week at most and never picks it up again unless really bored.
Squeaky toys had a life shelf of a week at best, that is with us taking them away to "preserve" them for longer. So far, this toy, the fish, has been the longest surviving squeaky and the longest at keeping his interest. it has received some cosmetic damage, but nothing that would make you remove the toy from his possession and it STILL squeaks.
