Claessens No.166 is one of our most popular Acrylic Primed Belgian linens. It is extremely versatile with a beautifully subtle texture that has a responsive medium surface tooth, allowing expressive mark making for both oil and acrylic painting techniques.

From a technical standpoint it has a weight of 415 grams per square metre, making it a very sturdy and resilient linen, maintaining its stretched tension well. Claessens double prime this linen using traditional priming methods to produce artist canvas to the standards of the Old Masters. Small scale production ensures only the finest quality. It comprises 17 warp threads per cm and 14.8 weft threads per cm.

This linen is available both in the standard 210cm (84 inch) roll width in 10-metre-long rolls and available to by purchased by the metre both online and in-store. It is also available in the convenient Mini Studio Rolls measuring 1.4 metres (55 inch) wide and 5 metres long.
