For over a century, Crown engineering has led the world, their naval superiority rightfully earning them control of the seas. That control, however, has been slipping for some time, and while her fleets are still numerous the Crown's dominance is no longer assured.

The heavy guns of the Crown Frontline Squadrons are able to pound enemy vessels and defences alike. Their solid design ensures they are often the last, if not only, vessels to leave an engagement. While most of the Frontline ships take the fight to the heart of the enemy some vessels have a more strategic role. Squadrons of Defiance fighters leap to the air from the deck of the Hotspur carriers, providing much needed air support. The Igraine class support cruiser was the first ship to incorporate Arthur McCurdy's bulky augmented shield generator technology. While laying off from the hottest frontline action, it can provide protection for nearby ships while launching their long-range Canberra-pattern Gyro-bombs to rend the hulls of their enemies.

Dystopian Wars is a naval tabletop wargame that uses highly detailed miniatures to represent huge engines of destruction on, above, and below the high seas. Set in the Dystopian Age, an alternate late-nineteenth century of our own world, the Great Powers of the globe use super-science and alien engineering as they clash over resources and power. Battleships and cruisers sail the surface of the sea while sky fortresses and dirigibles soar in the sky above. Submarines lurk beneath the waves alongside tentacled automata and colossal mechanical knights. Fighters and bombers circle, waiting to dive upon their prey. All of this combines for an intense, tactical experience.
