Delicious concentration, richness, and elegance which is very Burgundy-like. Textured and layered with a great persistent finish. It's what you might call a wine-drinkers wine, not full of overt fruit character, its appeal is in its concentration, tension and balance, all enveloped by the wonderful minerality for which Mount Etna has become known.

The grapes are from Biancavilla and Milo, two tiny villages on Mount Etna which are renowned for high quality Carricante wines. Planted on steep terraces, the vines thrive in these mineral rich, sandy, volcanic soils. Etna Bianco Gamma from Federico Curtaz is made from 100% Carricante grapes which are hand-picked, de-stemmed and lightly pressed at the winery. Using selected yeasts, the wine is fermented in stainless steel. This is a pure expression which sees no time in oak, just a pre-longed refinement of nine months in stainless steel on the lees, which gives the wine a roundness and extra complexity.
